Final Cycle – Day 30

Final Cycle – Day 30

Official Test Day.

We made it at last. Bloods drawn at 9am by a very lovely doctor and results at 3pm.

Hcg level 561.5 at 12 days past a 5 day transfer.

Lovely strong number! With Millie it was 814 and she was a singleton at the scan at 9 weeks 4 days so my anxiety regarding triplets and quads is slightly relieved.

Of course, numbers dont tell all but im feeling much calmer than i have been.

Its still not real though!!!! Im still not accepting im pregnant. Im doing everything a pregnant woman should, i.e. looking after myself but its just not hit me yet, im pregnant. Again.

Team Miracle have been brilliantly supportive as usual and are looking forward to scan pics….from what ive seen baby may look like a caterpillar at 6 weeks-ish but if people want pics, i will oblige.

So thats it folks. Thats a short protocol ICSI cycle with PGD and EmbryoScope.

Done in 30 days. Not too long really but wow what a journey. I just want to thank EVERY SINGLE ONE of you for reading, cheering me on, sending encouragement and love from afar. I had no idea how many people keep up to date with my journey and its simply overwhelming.

I hope ive kept you entertained and that maybe you learnt something new or feel better about the process if you are about to embark on your own journey.

I will be blogging throughout my pregnancy, and of course if you cant follow me anymore, i totally get it. I had to stop reading pregnancy blogs for a while. Its hard when you feel it should be you and its not.

Thank you all so much again though, and lets see what pregnancy has in store for Mr Me and I this time.

Final Cycle – Day 25

Final Cycle – Day 25

7dp5dt or 12 dpo

A whole week!!!! Its been a whole week since transfer, i cant believe it, its flown by if im honest.

Keeping busy works!!

So in my previous pregnancies, at this stage i tend to come out in a rash, i call it the ‘progesterone rash’.

Well….its appeared…albeit less obvious than normal but that could be because the steroids are masking it. I stop them on Wednesday.

Its made me 95% certain we are heading for a BFP. Its a lovely feeling!

Funnily enough, the tests i ordered yesterday were on my doormat this afternoon! Im still not going to test though!

My cycle buddy, T, has been testing a few days and today got her BFP, we are at exactly the same point, had the same symptoms so another reason im hopefull!

Tonight Mr Me and I are going out for a belated birthday meal. Im so excited! I LOVE food at the moment!!

Heading into the weekend feeling fantastic, what more can you ask for?

Cycle Day – 24

New day, new attitude.

I figure at this point, the IVF has either worked, or it hasnt, so i may as well think it has!

Ive had lots of positive signs and symptoms, so theres a very reasonable chance that next week ill be pregnant.

My appetite is still good, cheese triangles being one of my favourite things atm. I also had a craving for liquorice today, which im sure i craved in one of my other pregnancies.

Anyway im feeling good, the weather in the UK is fabulous and its nearly the weekend!

I booked my blood test today for next Wednesday (official test day) and i ordered my pregnancy tests for testing on Tuesday!

Ive been a little crampy today, and had a stabby pain in my right boob. Good signs i reckon.

My ass is soooo bruised and painful. It was fine yesterday following the proluton jab on Tuesday night, but today, ouchy! I cant see the bruise (as in it hasnt come to the surface) but i know its there!

5 days until i test. No desire to test any earlier at this point either.

Final Cycle – Day 23

Final Cycle – Day 23

Today was blip day. I woke up this morning, and felt low and flat. I think i got too cocky yesterday so i need to reel it in again.

I did feel better this afternoon, less flat but the lack of cramping is bothering me. Im trying to tell myself its because it/they are good and embedded already. Ive been referring to my embryo timeline a lot today…

This is what happens in a day 5 transfer :

-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt… Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt….Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and blastocyst buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Blastocyst is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
6dpt…Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt…More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt…More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt…HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

According to this timeline, hcg starts being produced tomorrow!

I have been a little pig today, 2 packets of crisps, sandwich, malt loaf, portion of chipshop chips and now im about to snack on cheese triangles and crackers 🐷🐷🐷 and thats all before my tea!!!

The two week wait is SO hard

Final Cycle – Day 21

3 days past a 5 day transfer/8 days post ovulation or egg collection

I had another, mostly, lazy day. I caught up with my counsellor, straightened my hair for the 1st time in 12 days, did some shopping (only light stuff Umit, i can hear you frowning as you read 😘) and did some washing.

I may aswell list my symptoms as i cant stop myself from noticing

  • Headachey
  • Crampy on and off, sometimes mild, sometimes strong
  • Some sharper pains in uterus at times
  • Sleepy
  • Craving bacon/food in general
  • Heavy/full feeling in uterus
  • Needing to pee more
  • This one may be a bit too much information for non IVFers – increased cervical mucus
  • Dizzy spells
  • Sore right nipple (although i do ‘check’ it regularly which probably isnt helping)
  • Achey hips
  • Increased sense of smell
  • Mr Me says im short tempered, occasionally, my temper is now very short with him following that statement! Kidding, he is right tbh, im easily annoyed at the mo!

Any and all of them could be explained by the meds, i know that and im trying to stay grounded, but im a little bit excited.

I got it all wrong. I had 20 overall not per ovary! So im not at risk of OHSS, yay, but my levels indicate my lining is too dry to be receptive to a pregnancy! Doh!

Anyway, 18 eggs were collected yesterday and 14 of those were mature so ICSI was performed on them. This is where hubby’s sperm is physically injected into an egg!

Of 14 injected, 12 fertilised overnight! And with the amazing embryoscope, i can now introduce 12 potential Mini Us’s…

Arent they beautiful?! Sadly its not likely that all 12 will make it but its a good starting point!

The real surprise of yesterday was hubbys sample though. Due to the sperm improvement protocol, his motility has increased about 20% which is amazing.

After my strop, im now feeling much better about the freeze all. Im focusing on the positives and there are many of them not least one being i can come back in June for transfer which is no time at all really. Im already checking out places to stay as im going to bring my Mum next time. Hubby is outta Annual Leave and i know Mum would love to meet them so ill have another lil holiday, why not eh?!

As my lining is famously thin i am slightly worried about getting it to transfer thickness…so ill come back for a week in case of delays and additional meds!

Im a happy bunny today and love my lil embies, they are beautiful.
