Final Cycle – Day 16

Final Cycle – Day 16

Biopsy day!

8 were good enough to be biopsied this morning. The head of lab has kindly moved the one that fertilised and was in the table top incubator to space number 1 in the embryo scope so now they are all together.

So i was right yesterday, number 1 had given up the ghost…it hadnt even fertilised 😂😂

But now my developing babies are all together. Clinic have said they are looking good and fingers crossed after the PGD results come back we will have some great ones for transfer!

Im still just taking one day at a time however.

Had a terribly lazy day today, both Mum and I have snoozed all day but the sight of my embryos has woken me right up!

I cannot tell you how grateful i am to the team over here, always on hand to guide and reassure. Happy to explain everything and anything as and when i need it. They make me feel like family. So a massive thank you Team Miracle, you really are all wonderful

Final Cycle – Day 14

Final Cycle – Day 14

Fertilisation report!

Of the 14 injected (one of the immature eggs matured in the maturation bath), 9 have fertilised!! Ive been sent my embryoscope pictures…

Ill be honest, this early on i havent a freaking clue what im looking at. I asked Umit and the ones that look like this have fertilised….

I counted 6 on my own so ive missed 3. Im much better once they start to divide but i have to say i really love this piece of technology. Right there 👆👆 is the start of life, i mean, WOW!!

Ill get daily updates now and hopefully tomorrow ill understand more of what im looking at, until then….divide my prettys, divide!!!

Clarity

Clarity

I got it all wrong. I had 20 overall not per ovary! So im not at risk of OHSS, yay, but my levels indicate my lining is too dry to be receptive to a pregnancy! Doh!

Anyway, 18 eggs were collected yesterday and 14 of those were mature so ICSI was performed on them. This is where hubby’s sperm is physically injected into an egg!

Of 14 injected, 12 fertilised overnight! And with the amazing embryoscope, i can now introduce 12 potential Mini Us’s…

Arent they beautiful?! Sadly its not likely that all 12 will make it but its a good starting point!

The real surprise of yesterday was hubbys sample though. Due to the sperm improvement protocol, his motility has increased about 20% which is amazing.

After my strop, im now feeling much better about the freeze all. Im focusing on the positives and there are many of them not least one being i can come back in June for transfer which is no time at all really. Im already checking out places to stay as im going to bring my Mum next time. Hubby is outta Annual Leave and i know Mum would love to meet them so ill have another lil holiday, why not eh?!

As my lining is famously thin i am slightly worried about getting it to transfer thickness…so ill come back for a week in case of delays and additional meds!

Im a happy bunny today and love my lil embies, they are beautiful.

Fertilisation!!!!

Fertilisation!!!!

We awoke early this morning, excited and apprehensive to find out whether our eggs and sperm had gotten jiggy over night! Well with ICSI they were forced to as this is when the sperm is actually injected into the egg rather than leaving them to their own devices.

We had breakfast and waited around for a couple of hours, but didn’t hear anything…as we were getting anxious we decided to have a walk around the castle, telling ourselves that by the time we returned we would know the numbers!

After the castle we had a bit of lunch and used the restaurants free wifi just in case, but nothing. Its verrry relaxed over here and i kept telling hubby, no news is good news!!! But we were getting antsy.

We decided to come and have a rest back at the hotel, and of course use the wifi, and I’ve just cracked, and whatsapp-ed Umit. The numbers are bloody fantastic….

Of the 12 collected, 11 were mature and therefore injected with a sperm, and of those 11, 9 have fertilised!!!! For you math whizzes out there, thats an 82% fertilisation rate, compared to our last go in the UK which was 62% – 21 mature eggs injected with 13 fertilising!

Hubby and i are over the freaking moon!!! We knew that coming here was a good idea, but its turned out to be even better than we thought!!!!

So now to leave them to it over the weekend and hope they continue to divide normally, i think on Sunday, all being well, the assisted hatching will be performed (where they pierce the shell of the embryo to allow it to hatch more easily) and hopefully transfer will take place on Tuesday at day 5.

For now, I’m just to prepare for transfer by continuing my meds…heres a little pic of what I’m on…

So the yellow and red ones are the antibiotics, this stops any infection and dries up any liquid in the uterus, making it cosy for transfer. The white ones are the progesterone pessaries and the blue ones oestrogen to thicken the lining.

We cannot stop grinning, I’ve already made up a little song (i do this a lot) willing them to stay strong for Mummy and Daddy!

Happy happy happy.
